Phase 2 - Harrow & Wealdstone station area

Improvement works during this phase will focus on the southern end of Wealdstone High Street.The area by Harrow & Wealdstone station, the High Street, the Bridge / Ellen Webb Drive / Masons Avenue junction, will be redesigned to create an attractive public space and gateway into the town from the station.

Construction starts week beginning 28 June 2021, for approximately 10 weeks.Improvements will include setting out a new road layout that will increase the size of the station forecourt and improve accessibility to and from the station.In addition, the taxi rank will be revised and repositioned, making changeovers smoother. The current cycle parking will be upgraded to accommodate new cycle facilities and cycle storage areas.Upgrades will be made to the public realm with high quality paving, new seating, lighting, and planting of additional trees and shrubs. This will create a welcoming and attractive pedestrian friendly area in front of the station.Changes will also be made to the traffic signals just outside the station, with controlled pedestrian crossing points.Getting around the town centre during Phase 2Temporary traffic management measures will be used to manage vehicular and pedestrian traffic around the phase 2 works. Access to Harrow & Wealdstone station will be available during the improvements.There are no planned changes to bus services, all buses will follow their usual routes.Access into the town centre car parks via the high street and the junction of George Gange Way / Canning Road is available.Stay up to date and subscribe to latest news about the improvements.
